Counter Strike: Global Offensive - The game that never dies.
Every aspiring gamers and even the real old gamers from 90s share a common thing in the field of gaming. They all know about a game, Counter Strike. At some point of their life, they must have been introduced to this game by their relatives or friends and what astonishing to this point of era is that the game has not lost its fan base. Instead, every gamers try to learn this game in order to improve their game sense or their raw aim in any other games.
Counter Strike was originally a
mod game for a then well-known game called "half-life". The game was
based on the concept of two different sided teams as "Terrorists" and
"Counter-Terrorists" where the main motive of terrorist-sided or
basically T-sided team was to plant the bomb/C4 in one of the sites of the map
and the motive of the Counter-Terrorists or CT was to not allow the bomb plant.
The game was 5 vs 5 and it was really fun. The game developed its later version
starting from Counter Strike 1.0 all the way to the latest Counter Strike: Global
0ffensive(CS: GO). There was one more version of CS which was called CS:
Source. Before the dawn of CS: GO, the most popular versions of CS were CS 1.6
and CS: Source. So, there were two different sided communities of CS and the
Valve, the creator of CS put on a new project to create the CS: GO where the
game would contain elements from both the CS 1.6 and CS Source versions.
CS: GO did get the popularity it deserved as the graphics elements were greatly improved and the game looked nice but the game mechanics was totally off. The previous version of CS, CS 1.6 exercised the fast-paced mobility while the CS: Source did not have as such mobility and the enhanced pace of the game. When the CS: GO was first played, it looked a lot like CS 1.6 and the maps were very similar but when the game was played, we could really see the game mechanics a lot similar to CS: Source and this kept the CS: Source players a bit in an advantageous position. There were many criticisms to the game from both the CS 1.6 and CS: Source players and most of the people said this game "broken" as there were many bugs in the game, the game was neither CS 1.6 nor the CS: Source and there was no feel for the game as many elements had to be remade until some teams showed the "new feel" to this game in a professional scene. The major impact was by the group of Swedish players who played for the team "Ninjas in Pajamas" or NIP in the pro scene and utilized the beneficial elements of CS: Source and CS 1.6 which brought the game to a new potential and they showed exactly how the game was supposed to be played. The game which could have potentially caused the end of CS history was rejuvenated and the game became the most successful than it had ever been. It's been eight long years since the dawn of the CS: GO in 2012 and it still carries a huge fan base. Has CS got any FPS competitor lined up which could take its position?
